Since January 2005, AgriData Ltd have been involved in the data
processing element of the Beef Quality Assurance Scheme run by Bord Bia.
THE FILLET OF FILLET...IRISH QUALITY ASSURED BEEF
This scheme aims to encourage farmers to become quality assured, and
undergo an annual farm inpection. Upon accreditation, farmers receive a
credit card showing their approval to the scheme.
Cattle Farmers in Ireland produce beef under one of the the most
stringent and regulated regimes in the world, where full traceability
from birth to slaughter are enforced and where animal remedies, feed and
animal welfare are all routinely inspected by the Department of
Agriculture and Food.
It therefore makes absolute sense to capitalize on all this regulation
by taking a few small extra steps to become Quality Assured and at least
derive some tangible benefits from being so regulated.
The key benefits of the scheme are listed below, but for more thorough
information, please visit the Bord Bia website.

Firstly, there is NO charge
for BQAS Inpections
In 2006 the Department of Agriculture and Food
provided funding to support the cost of 14,000 farm
inpsections under the Beef Quality Assurance Scheme.
Farmers should immediately avail of this opportunity to
become a member of the Beef Quality Assurance Scheme.

Quality Assured Farming
ensures that consumers are protected.
By participating in the Beef Quality Assurance Scheme, a
farmer demonstrates that his farming standards are counted
among the highest in the industry. This promotes good
customer experience and shows that Irish Quality Assured
Beef is the best of the best.

Quality Assured Farming
ensures that farmers are protected.
Cheap, poor quality food serves nobodys interest and a
race to the bottom is easily won. Farmers will only ever
guarantee their long term viable future by producing the
highest quality produce in the most open and transparent
manner. Consumers will pay more and generally repeat
business for quality produce.
